Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality and safety standards.
  • Following standard operating procedures, the Tech performs installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, safety, and waste management systems.
  • Employ mechanical skills required to perform tasks and repairs in projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, fabrication and fixtures.
  • Possesses intermediate skills in performing repairs on electrical, plumbing, and waste management systems.
  • Work with or assist trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
  • Perform preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Reports to Maintenance Supervisor on current jobs in progress.
  • Assist in moving furniture or other materials within the facility.
  • Will work under moderate supervision.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or perform preventative maintenance related to facilities, properties and production equipment.
  • Support company, facilities, properties and equipment as needed and assigned.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Work within a team environment and interact with all areas of production effectively.
  • A high degree of attention to detail, precision, and followthrough.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
  • Intermediate critical thinking and problemsolving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
  • Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling repair records, and recording maintenance.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and operate equipment.
  • Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Good organizational, cleanliness and time management skills.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or similar degree.
  • 2 to 8 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Stamina for standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Must be able to use ladders, lifts and booms to access shelving, roofs, ceilings and high reach points.
