Maintenance Tech
Scope of Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting daily maintenance operations within a food manufacturing facility. This includes diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs, and ensuring reliable operation of production and facility systems. The role involves maintaining and repairing production machinery, mechanical systems, electrical systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and facility structures using technical documentation such as blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment including motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and machinery
Diagnose mechanical and equipment failures using observation, testing tools, and operational analysis
Disassemble, repair, and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and lifting equipment
Measure, inspect, and verify part specifications using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers
Adjust and calibrate mechanical components and control systems as required
Support production teams in reducing downtime through effective preventive maintenance practices
Fabricate or repair parts using machine shop equipment when necessary
Maintain proper use and conservation of tools, parts, and maintenance resources
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions through reports and logs
Communicate maintenance issues, updates, and operational needs across departments
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, and HACCP standards at all times
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
Support housekeeping and facility readiness requirements
Address mechanical and operational issues that arise during shift
Perform other duties as assigned
