About the role
Assists in the maintenance of all building and lots under management by Universal.
Responsibilities
- Willing to receive formal and informal training from qualified personnel.
- Handles a variety of moderate electrical, carpentry and building repairs with the know how to complete without assistance.
- Work as a team member to assist in achieving the goals and objectives of the Facilities Division.
- Have sensitivity toward tenants and confidential documents related to Universal’s properties.
- Develop a proficiency in all aspects of maintenance systems.
- Provide day-to-day maintenance support to the Facilities Manager.
- Aid in preparing reports on property conditions and repair requests.
- Aid in maintaining a system to log repair requests.
- Assist in facilitating repairs to units and grounds.
- Communicate with the Facilities Manager on matters related to Universal facilities.
- Keep supervisor and co-workers informed of facility issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent skills training.
- Three (3) years of construction/facility maintenance repairs in an individual skill or as a generalist.
Skills
- Customer relations skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to document issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work effectively with others and work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability.
