Maintenance Tech

Description

The Maintenance Technician is part of the team responsible for maintaining and optimizing equipment reliability at Smurfit Westrock. This role ensures that production and quality goals are met.

Requirements

• Maintain excellent attendance reliability
• Familiarity and experience with motors, drives, contacts, relays, timers, PLCs, PC’s
• Corrugated equipment maintenance experience or related heavy industrial maintenance experience
• Technical understanding and skills with a focus on safety
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, machine manuals, mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Understanding of control circuits, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
• Ensure compliance with all Safety and Quality standards, processes, procedures
• Willingness to work in a 24/6 environment, 12hr shifts
• Willing to work mandatory overtime and weekends, as needed
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Awareness of OSHA standards for electrical safety

Education

• Corrugating and manufacturing experience, a plus
• Associate's degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Machining, or a related field preferred
• Demonstrated advanced training or certification in the maintenance mechanical/electrical industry
• Llean manufacturing knowledge, especially 5S
