Maintenance Tech

We are a boat manufacturer in Vonore, TN, seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance in a large manufacturing facility. Maintenance tasks span a variety of skilled areas including welding, machinery troubleshooting and repair, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Support the welding shop schedule and repairs.
• Apply high energy, self-motivation, and initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and maintenance techniques.
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair production-related equipment, including air, resin, and gel equipment.
• Perform varied and dynamic daily job duties requiring high levels of customer service.
• Track workload via daily schedules and assignments; ensure responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
• Read blueprints and schematics and build to specifications.
• Operate forklifts and high-lift (Genie boom) equipment after certification.
• Work throughout the facility, including at heights (ladders, rooftops, booms & lifts, work platforms), in various manufacturing environments, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Use a wide variety of hand tools, both powered and manual.
• Read measurement devices, including OHM/voltage meters, measuring tapes, calipers, and various equipment gauges.

Requirements

• Welding experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Three to five (3-5) years of commercial or industrial facility maintenance experience, including machinery repair and electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background and experience.
• Experience with CNC equipment, electrical motor controls, and programming is a plus.
• Ability to lift overhead within prescribed safety limitations, climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and perform other physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Safety Requirements

• Commitment to working safely at all times and reporting all hazards to a supervisor immediately.
• Understanding of basic regulatory terminology such as OSHA and DEP.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
• Ability to complete OSHA questionnaires, pass spirometer tests, and physically wear a respirator where required.
• Understanding of all safety-related documents, worksite rules, equipment operating instructions, and health and safety requirements, including General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

Working Conditions

• Maintain cleanliness and ensure safety compliance, including PPE adherence and safe behaviors.
• Work schedule: Typically four (4) days per week at 10 hours per day, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Schedule may be adjusted as demands require.

Pay

The pay range for this position is hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, short-term incentive program, and long-term incentive awards.
