About the role
The Maintenance Technician level 1 works onsite in Hoover to assist with basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, conference room(s) setup(s), unclogging drains, trash removal, air filter replacements, and more. They also respond to service calls and perform basic inspections of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fleet maintenance
- Perform basic repairs on building systems
- Respond to service calls
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and/or on elevated platforms and ladders
- Valid government issued driver’s license and driving record clear of offenses
- Experience using hand tools and power equipment
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in plumbing, electrical or mechanical trade
- Degree or certification from a technical college
- Experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of equipment
- Knowledge of building codes (electrical, plumbing, Heating/Ventilating & Air Conditioning-HVAC, and building)
- Computer skills (answering emails, inputting payroll information, taking online training, working with a CMMS system, researching work related information on the internet)
