About the role

Hillcrest Health & Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE. Located in a welcoming, resident-centered environment, Hillcrest Millard offers short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and supportive services.

Responsibilities

  • Complete routine maintenance, repairs, and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Aid with general building upkeep, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and equipment repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance needs from residents, families, team members, and leadership.
  • Support preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, service areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Identify and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist with room turns, furniture moves, setup needs, and community projects as required.
  • Use tools, equipment, and supplies safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance, facilities, apartment, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or building-repair experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to assist with various tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organization and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • A calm, flexible, and respectful approach when working with residents and families.
  • Comfort using tools, equipment, technology, and maintenance resources efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Maintenance, facilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
