About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems within our cold storage facility. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and systems, including refrigeration units, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Aid in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a cold storage or similar environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in cold storage environments as low as -10°F
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.

Pay
This pay range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the starting hourly compensation for this role at the time of posting. The actual rate will be determined based on a combination of factors including experience, qualifications, work location, and internal pay alignment, in accordance with applicable laws.
