The Maintenance Worker maintains a safe, functional, physical environment for patients, employees and guests while providing guidance to associate team members and assisting the Director of Plant Operations with the administrative functions of the department.
Essential Job Functions
- Efficiently diagnoses problems and formulates plans for repair in a timely manner
- Understands operations guidelines for a safe working environment and practices techniques related to such
- Ground maintenance: Maintains organization grounds to include cleaning parking lot, mowing lawns, snow removal, trimming bushes and hedges, and planting flowers
- General Maintenance and Repair: Carry out routine building maintenance tasks such as replace ceiling tiles; run cables through the ceilings; patch wallpaper, floor tiles and sheet rock; perform routine tests of specialized equipment and documents results appropriately
- Plumbing and electrical: Carry out routine plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair; replace, clean and unclog floor drains and other assorted traps and drains as required; install light switches, repair wires and outlets, install light bulbs and tubes in celling and lamps
- Carries out assignments in a timely manner; cleans areas thoroughly upon completion, creating minimal need for repeat of tasks
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School Diploma/Equivalent, Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Minimum three (3) years general experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and air conditioning with experience in repairs and maintenance in a healthcare setting preferred.
Hours of Work
Determined by the Director of Plant Operations according to the needs of the facility / as needed
