About the role

Based out of Hardeeville, SC, this position involves performing routine preventive maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to ensure the building is properly and safely maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and physical conditions do not deteriorate.
  • Take care of maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, including documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.
  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements, including documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of state or local governmental safety requirements.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal).
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of directly related or closely related experience are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate, climb, and perform work on ladders.
  • Ability to operate a smartphone and email (for day-to-day operations, basic communication, monthly expense reports).
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle from one location to another.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, pull/push, grasp, twist, reach above shoulder, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to input data into an information system; and talk or hear in order to gather and provide information on departmental processes.
  • Must have a typical outside work environment year-round (frequent standing, walking, lifting, and/or operating powered equipment using proper safety techniques or tools).
  • Exposure to elements like rain, heat, or cold.
  • Overtime may be required (on-call rotation).
