About the Role

The Maintenance Technician 3 ensures the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at our facility. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and autonomy, focusing on complex troubleshooting, repairs, continuous improvement, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols.
  • Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience with intermediate to advanced-level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Associate’s degree preferred with experience in electro-mechanical, high-speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working in a cGMP/Regulated environment desired.
  • Able to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems desired.
  • Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus.
  • Basic Computer Skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Direct support of high-speed automated process equipment operating on a 24/7 2-2-3 schedule. Minimum of 100 million medical devices manufactured annually. +/- 400,000 devices manufactured per business day.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role is between $28.00-$41.00 per hour. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience.
