About the Role
The Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at our facility. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and autonomy compared to a lower-level maintenance technician, with a focus on complex troubleshooting, repairs, continuous improvement, and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently
- Contribute to root-cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols
- Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure
- Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations
- Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 3+ years of related experience with intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of electro-mechanical systems
- Associate’s degree preferred with experience in electro-mechanical, high-speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience working in a cGMP/Regulated environment desired
- Able to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLC’s, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus
- Basic computer skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel)

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day
- Ability to operate heavy machinery
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions

Pay
The estimated salary range for this role is between $28.00-$42.00 hourly. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program.
