About the Role

The Maintenance Technician coordinates all OEM equipment preventive maintenance (PM) service work and addresses internal breakdowns, ensuring immediate operational and safety concerns are resolved. The role focuses on keeping all equipment and machines in good working order.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of the facility and operational equipment by completing preventive maintenance requests and collaborating with OEMs on production equipment, including lasers, plasma/flame cutters, press brakes, CNC mills, and fork trucks up to 45,000# capacity.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and working with OEM manufacturers.
  • Control downtime by informing the production scheduler of routine preventive maintenance performed by OEMs or internal maintenance.
  • Fabricate repair parts using internal engineering and company equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory provided by OEMs.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Work with OEM manufacturers to troubleshoot and address sudden breakdowns.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance information, including work order requests, and document it in company maintenance software.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks with equipment and parts suppliers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or vocational school preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience, with agricultural and/or automotive experience a plus.
  • Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes, diesel engines, transmissions, and clutches.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others, sharing skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Class A CDL is a plus.
  • Service shop experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy mechanical components and work outside in all types of weather.
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and ability to work independently.
  • Must pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks.
