Maintenance Tech 2 | Weekend Friday-Sunday
This shift runs Friday–Sunday from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM. Must be able to train during the week.
About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide repair and preventative maintenance services for sorters, cameras, hardware, auto baggers, conveyor systems, balers, and associated controls.
- Perform facility-related maintenance activities including general lighting, facility inspections and audits, air compressor systems, and emergency or temporary overhead door repairs.
- Repair carts, stands, lifts, and material handling equipment used in daily sorting and transporting of products within the facility (excludes major repairs or preventative maintenance to powered forklifts).
- Assist with controls support and troubleshooting; identify electrical issues (replace standard components such as photo eyes, MDRs, prox switches, encoders, PLCs, emergency stops, conveyor belts).
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain spare parts list and inventory.
- Maintain material handling system on site once installed.
- Assist in controls debugging.
- Ensure timely completion of all reports and logs, including time reports and travel expenses.
- Maintain a consistent, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Communicate concerns and issues with the Facilities Manager in a timely manner.
- Pursue professional training and certifications.
- Mentor other maintenance staff.
- Motivate and inspire the Duluth and subcontractor team; help subcontractors succeed and uphold our standards.
- Deliver projects on time, under budget, and with high quality.
- Improve processes with written templates, spreadsheet tools, and lessons learned.
- Perform any and all job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Skilled in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
- Energetic, ambitious, and hardworking with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Computer literate with experience using MS Office products.
- Previous experience in electrical, conveying, automation, and distribution centers desired.
- A solid understanding of contemporary industrial control systems is a plus.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Extremely well-organized with strong foresight and planning abilities.
- Experience in high-speed distribution centers is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service.
- Material handling or packaging background required.
- High school diploma plus 3 years of work experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Work Environment
- Standing or walking for up to eight hours a day.
- Frequently lifting up to 30 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Frequently reaching, twisting, and bending in multiple directions.
- Ability to work in tight quarters and workstations.
- Moderate warehouse noise level.
- Push/pull a picking cart or pallet of up to 500 pounds.
- Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movement (e.g., folding garments).
- Work in temperatures ranging from 50–95 degrees.
- Ability to walk long distances and climb flights of stairs throughout the day.
- Ability to stand for long periods or remain in a stationary position.
- Adjusting or moving objects over 20 lbs. in all directions.

Pay
Compensation range: $31–$33/hour. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
