About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at Pratt Industries – Tulsa, OK, you will maintain and repair the machinery and building involved in turning recycled paper into sheets of corrugated board and delivering them to customers. This includes producing boxes for brands like Domino’s Pizza, Home Depot, Amazon, and Hello Fresh.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise safe work habits and maintain a clean, safe working area while following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain company quality standards through inspections and ensuring parts and assemblies meet production specifications.
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment, including motors, die cutters, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and steam systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment and operate hand/power tools for maintenance, repair, and fabrication.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, mount components (drives, servos, PLCs, circuit breakers, transformers, relays), and perform wiring, labeling, and testing.
  • Cut, strip, bend, and form wire/cable/conduit; solder, crimp, and secure electrical components; conduct functional and continuity tests.
  • Cross-train in multiple technical areas and participate in continued education and training.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance reports accurately; identify potential equipment failures and recommend repairs proactively.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed, and support plant inspections and operational adjustments.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment; corrugated industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial machinery and handle electrical/mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with inspecting production processes, ensuring equipment reliability, and interpreting schematics/blueprints.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of maintenance principles and skilled trades.
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools and follow safety/operational procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance records and reports.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and self-motivation with a strong work performance and attendance history.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating tools/machinery.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
  • Frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and high-noise environments.
  • Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions; occasional exposure to high places, airborne particles, and vibration.
  • Fast-paced, safety-oriented setting.

Qualifications

  • Preferred apprenticeship or associate degree in a relevant field.
  • May be required to maintain a Lift Truck Operator License.
