This position is limited to current team members at this facility or complex. Candidates transferring from another Tyson facility must express interest through their local HR Partner. Previous Tyson workers have a minimum 365-day rehire waiting period and are limited to three employment terms.
About the role
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and machinery in a food production environment.
Pay
$22.35/HR - $31.95/HR (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Install facility machinery
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery
- Program PLCs
- Perform maintenance on facility
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
- Communicate with operators from other shifts
- Maintain and secure work tools
- Clean and maintain work area
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use
- Provide on-the-job training to new team members
- Maintain and promote team member interest in safety
- Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including reporting unsafe practices
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least one (1) year of industrial maintenance work experience documented in the work history section of the application or graduation from a Maintenance Technical School/Program documented on the application
- Advanced skills preferred in one or more of the following: HVAC, welding, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, or PLC programming
- Ability and willingness to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Forklift certification upon hire
- Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions
- Normal manufacturing environment
- Work may involve lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds
- Required safety equipment includes: steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net (if applicable), chain glove, chain sleeve, belly guard, cutting glove (knife hand), wrist guard, and smock
- Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor
