Maintenance Tech 1 - Weekend Days

About the role

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining the Distribution Center daily using preventive and corrective measures to ensure the safety of the facility. This role typically reports to the Sr. Mgr. Safety and Maintenance and is based in our Braselton Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations (75%):
  • Assist supervisor with planning and coordinating the maintenance and repair of conveyors, machines, and equipment.
  • Ensure all work, including work performed by subcontractors, is done in accordance with OSHA regulations and Carter’s safety rules.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and work well with management, peers, and subordinate employees to maximize productivity while minimizing employee conflict.
  • Observe housekeeping, safety, and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; stay within compliance of company policies regarding safety.
• Support Functions (25%):
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on conveyors and other material handling equipment.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating the maintenance and repair of conveyors, machines, and equipment.
  • Maintain facility property, including building grounds, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, security systems, etc.
  • Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned, including all operational areas of the Distribution Center.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass equipment and safety certification.
• Experience using routine industrial hand tools.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and facility objectives and key performance indicators.
• A customer-service orientation willing to exceed expectations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).
• Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) during peak periods.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license and a good driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required.
• Formal technical school or college degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of maintenance experience.

Pay

• Starting rate: $23.00 per hour (varies based on verified experience).
• 3rd Shift (Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM): $22.00 per hour + $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

• 3rd Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
