What You’ll Do
- Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Perform routine and minor maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical, wiring, and general repairs.
- Maintain furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and water systems to ensure resident comfort.
- Replace air-conditioner filters and complete monthly maintenance checklists.
- Assist with disaster preparedness, including fire drills and emergency readiness activities.
- Notify management of major repair needs involving lighting, HVAC, plumbing, or building systems.
- Remove snow, ice, debris, and hazards from sidewalks and grounds.
- Oversee landscaping services and assist with lawn care, trimming shrubs, and flower maintenance as needed.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately.
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and change positions frequently.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull equipment as needed.
Safety Requirements
- Follow OSHA and facility safety policies at all times.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation.
- Participate in company drug testing procedures.
Work Environment
- This role operates both indoors and outdoors and includes interaction with residents, staff, vendors, and community leadership.
- Flexibility is required to respond to maintenance needs and emergencies.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules and instructions.
