About the role
Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking an Electro-mechanical Repair Lead to perform and oversee preventative maintenance, routine mechanical and electrical repairs on production and processing equipment. The role involves troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, replacing components, and modifying equipment to support continuous improvement and maximize uptime.
Responsibilities
- Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out.
- Provide and assist with unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
- Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure plant efficiency.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and update the PM program as needed.
- Work with the planner/scheduler to ensure the team is current on assigned PMs and assist in maintaining machine reliability.
- Communicate effectively and constructively in a team environment.
- Read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
- Safely troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 24v - 480V equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair systems or equipment, including hydraulic systems, transformers, motors, DC circuitry, PLCs, variable frequency drives, relays, switches, position sensing devices, and printed circuit boards.
- Monitor and document observations, settings, readings, meters, and gauges as needed.
- Use common electrical/mechanical devices (e.g., multi-meter, amp-probe, megger, calipers, micrometers, dial indicator).
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Handle a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Perform basic welding and cutting, including acetylene torch, plasma, stick, TIG, and brazing.
- Secure and complete required department work order documentation (e.g., Confined space, Hot work permits).
- Record all work timely in CMMS software.
- Maintain housekeeping in your work area.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the planner/scheduler.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline or industrial maintenance/electrician certificate from an accredited trade school.
- Must already have work authorization that permits employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.
