About the role

This full-time Maintenance Team Lead position is based in Rogers, Minnesota. The role supports large production machinery through preventative and breakdown maintenance, reporting, and supervision of Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians (MMTs).

Breakdown of responsibilities:

  • Large Production Machinery Maintenance: 55%
  • Supervision of Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians: 25%
  • Administrative tasks: 10%
  • Other duties as assigned: 10%

Responsibilities

  • Implement the preventative maintenance program for production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components (e.g., printed circuit boards).
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as motors and lighting fixtures; replace damaged wires and cables.
  • Identify and analyze equipment or machinery failures and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure facility equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
  • Repair and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrically controlled systems.
  • Become proficient in all areas of the production line.
  • Clean machines and machine parts thoroughly; remove and reinstall parts as necessary.
  • Identify causes of unexpected machine breakdowns.
  • Make necessary modifications and conduct test runs.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed, including records of damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Support development of internal SOPs, manuals, and equipment guides for other departments.
  • Evaluate jobs in process and upon completion to ensure safety and work quality meet production needs.
  • Provide technical training to management and team members as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage time, attendance, and employee relations for MMTs.
  • Communicate regularly with MMTs regarding priorities, targets, and operational requirements.
  • Support recruitment, training, performance monitoring, and progress tracking to meet targets.

Requirements

  • Degree from a vocational or community college with coursework in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent education, plus four (4) years of related work experience and two (2) years of supervisory/leadership experience (or equivalent combination).
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to plant operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand, operate, and analyze facility systems and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., test meters).
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a record check and drug screening prior to employment.
  • Ability to access and navigate all areas of the production facility.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to discern color-coded wiring.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery.

Pay

Salary: $29.00 – $39.00 per hour. Night shift premium: $1 per hour.

Schedule

12-hour shifts (days and nights available), with 4 days on/off or 3 days on/off rotations.
