About the role

Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the installation, repair and maintenance of facilities and machinery, works with technicians and other maintenance employees, organizes and monitors maintenance operations, provides technical assistance to department managers and the Maintenance Manager, ensures maintenance technicians and leads follow all maintenance and safety standards, and is based at 2000 American Italian Way, Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Planner/Scheduler to execute maintenance schedules in line with the organization’s maintenance goals and monitor PM compliance (SAP recordkeeping).
• Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend necessary repair or maintenance.
• Oversee and enforce good record-keeping practices (pen and paper or electronic).
• Supervise Maintenance Leads and Maintenance Technicians, with direction of the Maintenance Manager.
• Coach and train maintenance technicians and leads on technical skills required to maintain the plant’s critical assets.
• Generate work orders, enter comprehensive job details, and assign work to qualified team members.
• Routinely inspect the quality of performed maintenance work.
• Communicate policies, procedures, and expectations to maintenance staff.
• Check that every single job is executed on time, to the budget, and without compromising building users’ safety.
• Work closely with OEM vendors when installing capital equipment.
• Monitor raw materials and spare parts inventory.
• Help with the development of maintenance procedures and proactive maintenance programs like preventative maintenance.
• Recommend budget items, contributing to the development of an annual maintenance budget.
• Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and other changes to major systems and equipment.
• Manages the site lubrication strategy.
• Actively discuss staff-related challenges with the Engineering Manager.
• Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting, problem solving activities and maintenance repairs to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
• Check that the premises are safe and not in violation of any regulations.
• Communicate directly with building occupants to resolve service requests.
• Must be able to be on call 24/7 when an emergency need arises.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 10 years of maintenance manufacturing experience preferred, food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with utilizing a CMMS (SAP experience preferred).
• Working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF or BRC and environmental and safety regulations preferred.
• Competency in English language (read, write, speak); excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
• Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide combined with analytical skills used to track and trend data and be able to use that data to guide decisions and communications with associates.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
• Ability to effectively present information to senior management.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
• Effective budgeting and performance management.
• Time management skills.

Pay

$90k to $110k Annually with additional bonus potential.

Schedule

Night Shift with flexibility as needed; must be able to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
