Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance inspections and repairs on facilities and related equipment to ensure proper functionality and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures when performing work on company property.
- Buildings maintenance and repairs for both interior and exterior areas of facilities and satellite structures.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical circuits ranging from 12V to 480V.
- Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems, including black iron, copper, PVC, PEX piping.
- Diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues effectively.
- Identify, source, and order parts necessary for equipment and facility repairs.
- Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot plant air compressor systems.
- Complete assigned projects and assist with training and development of department personnel.
- Perform facility upkeep tasks such as snow removal, drain maintenance, painting, floor grinding and floor polishing.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and project work.
- Execute preventive maintenance, complete work orders, and maintain inventory using the Maintenance Management System.
- Safely operate motorized equipment, including lift trucks, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
- Assist with moving, rigging, installation and relocation of equipment as needed.
- Utilize basic computer skills as required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/ PDF.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain active for an entire shift, frequently bend, reach above shoulder level, balance, and occasionally squat, crawl, climb, kneel, and push/pull.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
- Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use foot pedals and work at heights up to 30 feet.
- Must work in moderately noisy environments with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dust, solvents, grease, and oil.
- Must safely operate lift trucks and work in areas with lift truck traffic.
Mental Requirements
- Must be able to read work orders and prints, perform basic math, understand building structures, and have basic computer skills.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
Tools and Equipment
- Use of electrician tools, meters, hoists, drills, grinders, pipe threaders, pipe wrenches, mechanic tools, lift trucks, ladders, and various hand and power tools.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes, glasses, ear protection, and respirator, and operate heavy equipment as needed.
Education and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant work experience in facility maintenance is required.
