About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor at UniFirst is responsible for ensuring all facility equipment is efficiently functioning and identifying areas for improvement. They also train and develop maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment
  • Perform basic welding activities
  • Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)
  • Perform and assign all preventive maintenance
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications
  • Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems
  • Manage and assign all equipment maintenance
  • Assume responsibility for all shifts in the maintenance department
  • Oversee and implement maintenance-related regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Implement safety procedures
  • Train and develop maintenance partners
  • Develop, manage, and maintain budgets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Mn Special Engineer Boiler License
  • High school/GED preferred
  • Two-year technical degree in an appropriate field preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
  • Experience in maintenance administration including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, and maintenance management systems
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment including wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems, and plumbing
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance literature
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in hand and power tools
  • Lockout/tagout experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
