About the role

We are hiring a Manager of Facilities and Service (Maintenance Supervisor) at The Ventura in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you will help keep our communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and contributing to the upkeep of the community, while providing the five-star service that makes Mark-Taylor communities feel like home.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the leader for the team of Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians, and Housekeepers.
  • Oversee and execute the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community.
  • Perform consistent inspections, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances, and exterior structures.
  • Manage the daily inventory of apartment homes in order to support leasing efforts, including managing the Make-Ready, Turn Board.
  • Schedule contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazards.
  • Share rotating on-call duty with service team members and readily available to go the property after hours if needed and in uniform/badge.
  • Complete Weekly Service Report in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to Mark-Taylor safety protocols, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training classes.
  • Train and mentor Service Technician and Facilities Technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, inventories, pool chemical logs, make-ready and turn units.
  • Keep excellent customer service and positive rapport with all residents and team members.
  • Capital project oversight, bidding, and execution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years working as a Maintenance Manager or similar in multi-family housing is required.
  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas is required: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
  • One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSA or similar).
  • Service orientation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Three or more years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Apartment Turn Technician, Service Technician, Make-Ready Technician, or Work Order Technician.
  • A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Qualifications

  • Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $31.00/hr.
  • All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
  • Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications.
