About the role
Strides West is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will oversee and complete a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the community, and supporting cost-cutting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assists and completes work orders generated from resident requests for service, diagnosing and repairing defects or problems.
- Oversees the “make-ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch lists, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, and inspecting completed work.
- Maintains standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and common areas.
- Inspects work performed by other team members and contractors to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Maintains inventory of spare parts and supplies, and orders materials as needed.
- Completes preventative maintenance tasks and assists in developing budgets for repairs and capital projects.
- Ensures safety protocols are followed and conducts safety meetings.
- Treats residents and others with respect, responds to inquiries, and resolves maintenance issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, and related experience or training.
- Experience in property management maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of safety standards, OSHA regulations, and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for reviewing and completing financial documents.
- EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal (if applicable).
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
Specialized Skills
- EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal (if required).
- State and local certifications as required.
- Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property (if applicable).
Travel / Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Working in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet.
- Flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00. Additional compensation includes a quarterly or annual bonus program, paid time off, and robust benefits package.
Schedule
Local, routine travel may be required to attend business meetings, training programs, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
