About the role
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the shift’s maintenance team. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively to maintain and improve the reliability of equipment and facilities. This will be a night shift position between the hours of 10pm and 7am Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervision and Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
- Schedule and assign work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Perform supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving problems.

- Maintenance Operations
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
- Schedule and assign work order and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities for the plant.
- Proficiency in RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and/or Factory Talk to assist in troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Cookordinate with contractors, suppliers, and mechanics to perform the installation of equipment, equipment/maintenance improvements, preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, and repairs to machinery, buildings, and property.
- Develop plans to efficiently use materials, machinery, and employees to address maintenance issues and maintain plant operations.
- Review maintenance costs to identify recurring problem areas and manage the maintenance budget.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Promote the principles of 5S.
- Inventory and Procurement
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Cookordinate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of necessary materials.
- Assure inventory of critical parts to maintain plant operation.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and malfunctions.
- Implement corrective actions to resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop long-term solutions.
- Evaluate problem areas in procedures or equipment and design and implement new or better ways of completing tasks.
- Verify proper lockout/tagout procedures are strictly followed.
- Training and Development
- Provide training to maintenance staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit regular maintenance reports to the Maintenance Manager.
- Document maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical training is preferred.
- Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing plant or similar environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrates sound and accurate judgment; ability to support and explain reasoning for making decisions.
- Capability to understand blueprints, schematics, diagrams.
- Proficiency in RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and/or Factory Talk.
- Able to troubleshoot issues using ladder logic PLC, identify issues and make changes as needed.
- Self-motivated, intelligent, organized, detail-oriented, and a problem solver.
- Works well under pressure.
- Must have a high level of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and technical skills.
