About the role

We are currently seeking a skilled & motivated Maintenance Supervisor in Training in the South Charlotte area. You will be working and training onsite alongside a supervisor with a full maintenance team and will need future flexibility to transfer to another Charlotte community for a supervisor role. This is a hands-on role where you will manage and coordinate activities of a service team to ensure upkeep, inventory, and repair of grounds and buildings are completed efficiently. You will also work as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties, diagnose problems, and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances. Additionally, you will schedule and directly supervise all in-house and/or vendor work and share on-call duties with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of property grounds and buildings.
  • Diagnose problems and make repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
  • Schedule and directly supervise all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Share on-call duties with other team members.
  • Use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade-related experience with at least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license, transportation, and tools required.
  • Willingness to share on-call duties with other team members.
  • DMV and background/criminal check will be conducted.

Pay

  • Starting pay: $25 per hour (depending on experience)
  • On-call bonus: $150 per week (regardless of calls) plus an additional $150 per holiday on-call bonus
  • Quarterly bonus: Up to $1,110 (based on performance of property and team)
  • $1,500 sign-on bonus (details to be discussed during the interview process)
