About the role

The Manager of Facilities and Service (Maintenance Supervisor) role at Canopy at the Trails in Phoenix, AZ, is responsible for overseeing and executing the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. This role also involves inspecting the property for safety hazards, scheduling contractors and vendors, and managing the daily inventory of apartment homes to support leasing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the leader for the team of Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians, and Housekeepers.
  • Oversee and execute the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community.
  • Perform consistent inspections, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances, and exterior structures.
  • Manage the daily inventory of apartment homes to support leasing efforts, including managing the Make-Ready, Turn Board.
  • Schedule contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazards.
  • Share rotating on-call duty with service team members and be readily available to go the property after hours if needed and in uniform/badge.
  • Complete Weekly Service Report in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to Mark-Taylor safety protocols, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training classes.
  • Train and mentor Service Technician and Facilities Technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, inventories, pool chemical logs, make-ready and turn units.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive rapport with all residents and team members.
  • Oversee capital project oversight, bidding, and execution.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
  • One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSHA or similar).
  • Service orientation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Three or more years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Apartment Turn Technician, Service Technician, Make-Ready Technician, or Work Order Technician.
  • One year working as a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, Building Engineer or similar.
  • A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $31.00/hour. All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call. Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications applies within 90 days of hire.
