Maintenance Supervisor | Camden Old Town Scottsdale

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor at Camden is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and managing the upkeep of multifamily communities. They ensure that all repairs, make-readies, and preventative maintenance are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance team and efficiently schedule maintenance activities
• Monitor and prioritize service requests and tasks; identify and expedite emergencies
• Communicate assignments to the maintenance team and monitor the workload
• Coordinate, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance
• Manage the make-ready process by walking vacant apartments, communicating with vendors, and ensuring repairs and replacements are completed
• Accurately complete records in OneSite regarding service requests, preventative maintenance, and make-ready
• Identify and address safety and maintenance issues
• Provide input to the Community Manager on employee performance evaluations and other matters
• Train, develop, and mentor the maintenance staff
• Complete written property safety audits
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for repairs
• Monitor monthly maintenance budget and provide input to the Community Manager
• Assist with various tasks such as grounds keeping, pool maintenance, housekeeping, and distribution of notices
• May oversee new developments or rehabilitation projects
• Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of work areas and maintenance shops

Qualifications

• High school diploma and some college or trade school preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of general maintenance experience, at least 1 year of apartment maintenance experience required
• Previous supervisory experience is required
• EPA certification Type I and II, or Universal and CPO certification required
• Able to perform tile work, carpentry repairs, and all facets of the apartment make-ready process
• Certified Apartment Service Technician (CAMT) preferred
• Required certifications/permits for job responsibilities (e.g., pool operations, maintenance, electricians)
• A valid driver's license required for employees working at communities utilizing Low Speed Vehicles
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as required
