Maintenance Supervisor- Briarcliffe

Bender Companies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Apartment Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance operations at Briarcliffe Apartments & Townhomes in Lansing. This is a key leadership position, ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a daily plan of action to maximize maintenance team productivity and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Cookordinate unit turns with vendors and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality apartment readiness
• Oversee and ensure timely completion of all service requests, work orders, and assigned maintenance tasks
• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Order and manage maintenance supplies to ensure availability of necessary materials and control inventory costs
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, supplies, and vendor work to support operational efficiency and compliance
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours maintenance emergencies

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to get to work
• 2–3 years of experience in residential maintenance, including team leadership or supervisory experience
• A passion and ability to lead and develop team members
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks across a dynamic property environment
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance practices
• Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus
• EPA certification, HVAC license, or other relevant credentials are a plus

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 30 - 35 USD per hour

Schedule

Full-time, 8 AM to 4:30 PM (however hours may vary), Monday to Friday, On call Weekends as needed
