Maintenance Supervisor

Founded in 1923, The Yarco Companies is a full-service, multi-family real estate firm that delivers highly specialized property management services and focuses primarily on affordable housing.

This safety‑sensitive position is responsible for maintenance of the residential apartment homes, public space, outside grounds and equipment; supervising and managing all employees connected with these areas to ensure adherence to company guidelines and achieve excellent customer satisfaction; and accompanying pre‑designated office hours at each community location to ensure effective operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and work direction to housekeeping/janitorial, maintenance technicians, caretakers and grounds keeping, as delegated by the Community Manager.
• Keep the property in a neat, clean, and well‑maintained condition; perform daily exterior and interior inspections to assure maintenance and cleanliness procedures are being followed.
• Cross‑utilization of groundskeeper duties may be required.
• Execute and document preventive maintenance program for resident apartments, public spaces, and equipment.
• Maintain proper amount of parts and supplies in‑stock in a well organized and clean manner following company purchasing guidelines.
• Pool maintenance (if applicable): completion of daily chemical inspections, maintenance and cleaning to meet city codes and company standards.
• Ensure the property meets and exceeds company standards for resident satisfaction and is available for on‑call emergencies (e.g., snow removal) per Community Manager's request.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Three plus years of maintenance experience in residential property.
• Physical & Cognitive: Frequent standing and walking, as well as occasional sitting; ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 110 pounds; occasional squatting, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and balancing.
• If the job includes or may include driving for company business: driver must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record with the company insurance carrier; reliable means of transportation; ability to be insurable at standard rates for driving; must provide proof of personal auto liability insurance when using vehicles for company business.
• To be hired, candidates will be required to successfully complete a background investigation, drug screen, and a physical demand analysis (when applicable).
