The Maintenance Supervisor position at Washington Mills is a full-time, salaried role located in Niagara Falls, NY. This role oversees a team of hourly personnel and ensures that all millwrights and electricians are safely meeting established tasks to meet production standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of hourly personnel
- Ensure all millwrights and electricians are safely meeting established tasks necessary to meet established goals and production standards
- Direct changes and may alter priorities based on current situations
- Direct the department millwrights and electricians to respond to breakdown work within the facility in a timely manner
- Suggest repairs or rebuilds of equipment
- Support all plant safety guidance and objectives, including a clean and orderly shop
- Inspect all work performed to ensure it is completed effectively and efficiently
- In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and Production Superintendent, develop a preventative maintenance schedule which is strictly adhered to
- Inspect equipment and write work orders for repairs or improvements
- Work with plant engineers as needed to create and suggest process/equipment improvements
- Train skilled trades on proper inspection of equipment
- Ensure tradesmen provide proper documentation regarding inspections and repairs
- Schedule and track monthly safety training and toolbox talks
- Perform safety inspections as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of supervisory experience of skilled tradesman in an industrial environment
- Well-organized, detail oriented, and proficient skills in excel and word
- Mechanically and electrically proficient; able to diagnose and evaluate equipment and processes
- Proficient in interpretation of blueprints and electrical schematics
- Able to parallel tasks and stay focused on several items at once
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Have 3+ years of supervisory experience of skilled tradesman in an industrial environment
- Be well-organized, detail oriented, and have proficient skills in excel and word
- Be mechanically and electrically proficient; able to diagnose and evaluate equipment and processes
- Be proficient in interpretation of blueprints and electrical schematics
- Able to parallel tasks and stay focused on several items at once
