Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assign and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective completion.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating urgency, accountability, and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, providing direction, support, and hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Mentor and develop team members across electrical, controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management, including evaluations and goal setting.
  • Promote a team-oriented culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a primary, hands-on resource for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues across the facility.
  • Support and actively participate in troubleshooting electrical systems, controls (including PLCs), hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical direction on equipment repair, modifications, and optimization.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis efforts for downtime events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Aid in advanced troubleshooting and repair of forging and production equipment.
  • Support and enhance preventative maintenance (PM) programs to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Ensure PM activities are properly documented, tracked, and completed within CMMS/EQMS systems.
  • Assist in developing and continuously improving PM procedures and maintenance practices.
  • Guide technicians in inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and equipment adjustments.
  • Cover coordination and oversight of external service providers and contractors, ensuring safe and effective execution of work.
  • Provide technical input and support for capital projects, equipment upgrades, and system improvements.
  • Assist with installation, validation, and optimization of new equipment and systems.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and leadership to support equipment performance and operational goals.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair or replacement.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, according to specifications and codes.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure equipment and installations are up to date with current standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Train staff in the use and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Maintain records on electrical control system operations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Address emergencies or urgent issues related to electrical systems.
  • Perform All Other Duties As Assigned By Management.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information and Identify Root Causes Of Equipment Issues Required.
  • Experience Performing basic electrical troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Experience with PLC-based machinery and a basic understanding of ladder logic preferred.
  • Ability to assist in troubleshooting automation and controls-related issues.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic Systems In An Industrial Setting Required.
  • Experience Leading Or mentoring maintenance personnel required.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
  • Strong hands-on Experience In a Heavy Industrial Or Forging Environment Preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish language skills preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training, trade school, or associate degree in electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong emphasis on electrical and controls troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment (forging experience a Plus).
  • Experience leading or mentoring a maintenance team required.

Schedule

Monday Thursday from 5am-3pm with overtime as required on Fridays.
