Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Facilities Services Manager and is a hands-on position responsible for the overall maintenance of all St. Matthew's House properties. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all building maintenance and equipment repair, with work ranging from small engine repair to complete room remodels.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and routine preventative maintenance to mechanical equipment, utility systems, structures, and grounds to maintain and enhance the value of the community
• Oversees the maintenance team and works in collaboration with Agriculture staff for landscaping to maintain all common areas of the community
• Coordinates and supervises major repairs performed by licensed vendors until complete and reports status to management
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, repairs or replaces broken parts
• Assists with pool maintenance
• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on grounds work, equipment maintenance, and general tasks
• Assists in monitoring and/or controlling maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping inventory and/or supplies
• Responds to resident service/emergency maintenance requests and concerns in a timely manner
• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance and associated procedures
• Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures
• Obtains estimates for supplies and repair parts; orders parts as needed
• Works to exceed the needs of the facility
• Initiates, performs, trains, and oversees all maintenance projects
• Meets and reports daily with management on department status, work progress, and setting priorities
• Complies with standard safety programs and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School
• At least 5 years of maintenance and repair experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• HVAC and plumbing experience essential
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4 hours at a time and lift at least 75 pounds
• Must be able to bend or kneel to the ground
• Must be able to work outdoors in sometimes hot environments for extended periods of time
• Must have a valid FL driver's license
• Must be able to drive a trailer
• Must be SMH approved driver
