Maintenance Supervisor
About the role
Poly-America, L.P is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance department. The role involves working with engineering and operations when planning equipment installation and alterations, proposing upgrades to existing machinery when needed. It also includes supervising the planning of plant and equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring all repairs and projects are done safely and on time. The supervisor is responsible for developing technical training and other maintenance practices to minimize downtime and boost employee morale. They lead by example, delegate effectively, motivate subordinates, and foster a team environment. They represent the maintenance department in departmental meetings, identify and solve leading downtime contributors.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering and operations for equipment installation and alterations, and propose upgrades to existing machinery.
- Supervise the planning of plant and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ensure all repairs and projects are completed safely and in a timely manner.
- Develop technical training and other maintenance practices to reduce downtime and enhance employee morale.
- Lead by example, delegate effectively, motivate subordinates, and foster a positive team environment.
- Represent the maintenance department in departmental meetings.
- Identify and resolve leading downtime contributors.
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience managing an industrial maintenance group is preferred.
- A strong electrical background is essential for this position.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
