Maintenance Supervisor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and installs machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Performs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
• Assists in ongoing preventive maintenance program in conjunction with other engineering and maintenance staff.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
• Identifies low levels in department inventory; maintains inventory including proper storage and knowledge of use.
• Affords assistance in compliance with Hazard Communication Program, including Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), labeling, storing and handling of materials, etc.
• Affords assistance in the identification of safety procedures, equipment and protective clothing requirements.
• Responds to work orders as directed by management.
• Affords assistance in the application of key control policies and procedures.

Skills

• Minimum of three years relevant work experience in a facilities, maintenance or building technician role.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
• Working knowledge of Building Automation Controls preferred.
• Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment.

Education

• A high school or vocational school diploma and minimum of four years related trades training or equivalent work experience in maintenance and equipment repair is required.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
• Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.
• Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching, bending at the waist.
• Indoor/ outdoor work environment with exposure to extreme weather (Snow removal duties as needed).
• Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.
