Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

This position provides oversight, direction, and coordination for all operations and maintenance (O&M) activities at an assigned jobsite to ensure adherence to contractual objectives. The role supervises and coordinates skilled trades workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and specialized administrative duties, including reviewing and approving leave requests, counseling employees, creating inter-departmental reports, and attending meetings.
• Maintain safe operating practices and conduct building maintenance inspections.
• Implement plans and procedures within the Building Maintenance section.
• Collaborate with the Public Works Department and building tenants.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, operation, and renovation of properties and facilities.
• Assist in decision-making for normal and minor repairs; report major problems to supervisors or the Public Works Department.
• Operate CMMS software for scheduling work across departments.
• Conduct accident investigations and safety inspections.

Requirements

• General understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Demonstrated skill in one trade and basic knowledge of other trades through on-the-job training.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and PPE procedures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or skilled trades work.
• At least 1 year of experience in a lead worker or crew leader capacity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
