Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for leading and directing plant maintenance activities, ensuring equipment and facilities are in optimal operating conditions. Key responsibilities include reporting operational issues to the Manufacturing Manager, implementing a cost-effective preventive maintenance program, and troubleshooting and solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct plant maintenance activities
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are in optimal operating conditions
  • Report to Manufacturing Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant
  • Provide technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities
  • Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program
  • Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas
  • Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results
  • Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts
  • Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Must be open to working flexible hours including weekend work, and off hours as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant
  • College and/or related technical courses preferred
  • Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics preferred
  • Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity experience preferred
  • Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills
