The Role

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing supervision of daily tasks and collaborating with different departments to ensure execution of maintenance activities is achieved safely, on time, and with good quality. You will work closely with the Production, Laboratory, Engineering, and Safety departments to maintain compliance, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.

What You’ll Do

  • Operations & Supervision
    • Enforce all site health, safety, and environmental policies with Production, Maintenance, and Laboratory personnel
    • Ensure work activities comply with EHS, production requirements, and quality requirements per Maintenance Procedures and OEM requirements
    • Manage staffing of the maintenance department, maintaining required coverage on a daily basis
    • Supervise and participate when needed in day-to-day maintenance and operational activities
    • Accountable for ensuring daily instructions are executed safely, on time, and with quality
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by ensuring procedures, rules, and regulations are followed
  • Maintenance & Equipment Support
    • Maintain repairs of equipment; visually inspect and test equipment for proper functionality
    • Avoidance of downtime through timely completion of preventive maintenance on time, following procedures, diagrams, sketches, repair manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications
    • Oversee the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of malfunctioning equipment to meet operational and quality requirements
    • Identify equipment maintenance needs and ensure proper records of equipment maintenance readings are kept and accessible to the rest of the team
    • Manage contractor support for maintenance repairs (all trades) during normal operation of the facility
  • Planning & CMMS
    • Maintain up-to-date records in the CMMS platform for all repairs and preventive maintenance activities
    • Work closely with the CMMS platform to plan and schedule all activities required by maintenance personnel
  • Communication & Continuous Improvement
    • Generate a daily report providing feedback to managers on the status of instructions set for the day
    • Promptly communicate to engineering or management the areas where attention is required
    • Follow up on deliverables from management and engineering to keep due dates on track
    • Enforce proper equipment operation by keeping management and engineering informed about needs or deficiencies
    • Promote continuous improvement by identifying areas of opportunity
    • Bring ideas to the attention of operating and engineering teams for evaluation and implementation
  • Team Development
    • Responsible for the development and training of maintenance personnel based on company progression strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma required
  • Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field
  • Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate
  • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical/refinery plant environment
  • Able to interpret critical measurements and make recommendations to supervision
  • Knowledgeable in safe work practices, safety procedures, and other safety requirements
  • A self-starter with proven leadership abilities and willingness to work independently when required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Able to be a team player due to constant interactions with operators, engineers, and plant leadership
  • Knowledge of proper methods for locking out and isolating equipment
  • Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office
  • Able and willing to meet on-call requirements, including holidays
  • Maintain a clean driving record and valid motor vehicle operator’s license

Work Environment

An industrial plant environment with exposure to hazardous materials and compliance with applicable safety standards. This is a field-based, hands-on leadership role requiring mobility, safety discipline, and strict adherence to company and regulatory standards.
