About the Role

The Battery Systems Assembly Maintenance Supervisor oversees Maintenance Technicians and provides first-line support for all production and assembly machinery. This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures, exercising judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility, and may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of maintenance technicians and provide support for preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and removal of parts from machines and equipment.
  • Log and track work, parts used, and procedures, noting any abnormalities.
  • Observe working practices and machines, perform root cause analysis, and conduct FMEA.
  • Collaborate with engineers and managers to solve problems.
  • Diagnose machines, robots, PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, bearings, gears, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and HMI systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or facility maintenance with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, lead tasks or small teams, or serve as a go-to resource for peers.
  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with technicians, operators, and leadership.

Skills

  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of both hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of servo and stepper motors.
  • Working knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and HMI systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of SAP and CMMS systems.
  • Welding experience, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.
  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Familiarity with Lean work practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years supervising maintenance teams in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environment.
  • Experience in welding (GMAW/MIG/FSW/Laser) and press processes.
  • Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design tools.
  • ERP experience.

Working Conditions

  • 60% on the production floor, 40% office work.
  • Extensive walking and standing on the production floor.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lying on the floor, and climbing.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs alone.
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Team-based working environment.
  • Required to wear PPE correctly at all times.
  • This position will support 2nd Shift.
