Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervises, schedules and monitors the work of the maintenance crews to support assembly lines, plant facilities an grounds.
- Recommends equipment to reduce or eliminate safety concerns relative to repetitive motion.
- Works closely with both the Safety Manager and Training Manager.
- Captors and coordinates maintenance work actively with manufacturing personnel to ensure line efficiencies.
- Schedules the repair of equipment, orders and parts as needed.
- Trains associates in maintenance procedures and enforces safety procedures.
- Supervises the setup and assembly of new manufacturing lines.
- Prepares work orders and reports as necessary.
- Plans, organizes and allocates department resources to meet department and company goals.
- Identifies and selects vendors from which to order equipment and recommends orders as necessary.
- Maintains and controls the maintenance expenses within the department.
- Promotes an associate relations environment consistent with long term management objectives.
- Aids and participates in the in house Kaizen activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent area, or Journeyman's card with relevant mechanical / electrical experience required.
- Functional Experience: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).
- Knowledge of presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides).
- Knowledge of AutoCad or similar drawing software.
- Industry Experience: 3 -5 years experience in the automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Outstanding knowledge of continuous improvement performance and metrics and drivers.
- Ability to communicate goals, consistently focus the team on objectives and performance, is bottom-line oriented, and is service-oriented to support the operational leaders in the business.
