Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for Brent Place Apartments in Alexandria, VA. The position offers the option to live on‑site with a significant rent reduction (income qualification may apply) and prefers bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates.

Responsibilities

• Handle all technical matters related to general apartment maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, and painting.
• Assist with unit turnovers.
• Participate in the after‑hours on‑call rotation and respond to emergency situations.
• Understand and oversee work performed by contractors.
• Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times.
• Provide reliable transportation for on‑call emergencies.
• Exert 25–50 lb of force frequently and 10–20 lb constantly as required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance troubleshooting, drywall, and painting.
• Experience with split‑system HVAC units (highly desired).
• HVAC and CFC certifications preferred.
• Ability to understand and oversee contractor work.
• Professional demeanor and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to lift and exert the required forces.
