Maintenance Supervisor
About the Role
Forj Medical is looking to expand their Facilities team with a skilled Maintenance Supervisor responsible for 300,000+ square feet of manufacturing and general office space. This position ensures the continued operations of building equipment and owns planned and unplanned maintenance such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, and more. The role requires extensive knowledge overseeing a commercial facility to ensure building operations and repairs are completed in a timely manner, along with strong communication skills to respond, coordinate, and repair incoming tickets. This role will manage the maintenance team by mentoring and fostering a collaborative culture with a forward-thinking mindset.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial building maintenance activities with a proactive, preventive mindset
- Prioritize and assign work orders based on urgency, impact, and operational needs
- Conduct performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and provide ongoing coaching to team members
- Provide mentorship and hands-on training to develop technical and professional skills
- Support team members with daily objectives to ensure assigned goals are met
- Partner with leadership to identify and report cost-savings opportunities, including performing in-house repairs to reduce outsourced spend
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance schedules
- Follow up on assigned tasks through completion, including detailed documentation and reporting
- Ensure the facilities ticketing system is updated daily
- Maintain, modify, inspect, repair, install, and assemble facilities equipment, including, but not limited to HVAC, motorized equipment, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and furniture
- Perform basic exterior repairs to maintain the overall appearance of the facility
- Complete work in accordance with established quality, safety, and productivity standards
- Support operations at multiple Forj Medical locations, including Arden Hills, St Paul, and Vadnais Heights
- Available 24/7 on-call rotation and coordinate coverage schedules with the maintenance team
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of prior commercial or industrial maintenance experience as a lead
- Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Strong judgement and decision-making in all aspects of work
- Ability to work effectively with staff and vendors on troubleshooting, problem solving, and repairs
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and technical documents
- Proficiency with computer-based applications, including Microsoft Office and maintenance/work order systems
- Standard work schedule is 8 hours per day, with flexibility between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Must possess a valid MN driver’s license, current auto insurance, and the ability to travel between office and stores on a regular basis
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Physical Demands

Pay
The expected starting salary for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 depending on qualifications.
