Job Duties

  • Affirms and prioritizes work requests and ensures materials are available.
  • Fulfills follow-up on work orders to meet job specifications and timelines.
  • Maintains and reviews stock inventory of spare parts, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepares manpower schedules and handles vacations.
  • Inspects facility areas to ensure good housekeeping and safety.
  • Attends and contributes to daily production meetings.
  • Researches materials to enhance production efficiency.
  • Focuses on error proofing, ergonomic techniques, and cost reductions.
  • Contacts external contractors as needed.
  • Champions new equipment for new programs in conjunction with preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates and monitors contractor activities for projects.
  • Updates project information and maintains project files.
  • Supports department management, project managers, and consultants.
  • Updates and maintains information in company records systems and department databases.
  • Organizes minor construction work.
  • Maintains inventory of new equipment, manuals, and warranties.
  • Operates computerized preventative maintenance program.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains various electrical components, appliances, and equipment.
  • Schedules preventative maintenance checks of all electrical alarms.
  • Responsible for installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
  • Initiates safety concerns and makes judgments on task completion methods.
  • Responsible for snow removal and ice safety.
  • Responsible for landscaping and maintaining the aesthetic appearance of Flex-N-Gate, Ventra property.
  • Performs short-term planning and keeps authorities informed of decisions.

Requirements

  • Community College in a related field.
  • Five years in a mechanical/electrical capacity as a tradesman or five years related experience.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Ability to maintain organization of maintenance schedule and files in a changing environment.
  • Initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to create alternative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Possession of necessary cost control measures.
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) and email, CAD, electrical control, and PLC software.
  • Possession of supervisory skills.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot.

  • Employee relations skills.
  • Statistical Process Control for Machine Capability.
  • Possession of ISO TS14001 knowledge.
