Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Summit School Services is seeking an experienced fleet maintenance supervisor to oversee daily operations at a local maintenance facility. This position involves supervising maintenance staff, managing parts inventory, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating with other local operations functions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and oil, temperature, gas regulating components; adjust, test, rebuild engines and related assigned duties within qualification level
• Oversee and personally comply with local implementation of NELLC maintenance and safety standard operating procedures, ensuring local maintenance staff follow them and comply with all locally applicable public authority legislation, regulation, and standards
• Oversee local use of NELLC's EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) ERP application and ensure maintenance facility staff record and track local maintenance work orders and parts inventory; use this application personally
• Oversee parts inventory maintained and used in the maintenance facility
• Oversee and participate in work needed to implement preventive maintenance for vehicles serviced by the facility
• Oversee and participate in work needed to complete unscheduled repairs to vehicles serviced by the facility
• Represent maintenance activity at the local level in interaction, communication, and coordination with driver care, route operations, and customer care
• Supervise maintenance staff at the facility
• Exhibit highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; share concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with supervisor or manager
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5 years of fleet Supervisor experience in a Diesel Shop with Heavy/Med duty fleets
• Minimum of five years Auto/Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience
• Experience with compliance with local applicable DOT compliance of Med/Heavy Trucks
• ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or a Master Truck Technician preferred
• Computer proficient
• Strong experience with computerized diagnostics
• Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills
• Background in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)
• Oversee parts inventory maintained and used in the maintenance facility
• Supervisor experience in purchasing and budget management
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules
• ASE Certification desirable but not required
