About Reidsville
The Maintenance Supervisor position at Drylock Technologies in Reidsville is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. This role involves providing leadership, direction, and oversight to maintenance technicians, ensuring safety, accountability, and timely responses to production needs.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Maintenance Department by overseeing maintenance technicians, communicating with various departments, managing timekeeping, and promoting safety and compliance.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support maintenance technicians in daily work activities.
Provide direction, coaching, and follow-up to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company expectations.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Serve as a point of contact for maintenance-related issues during assigned work hours and when on-call support is needed.
Communicate effectively with production, sanitation, quality, warehouse, and other departments as needed.
Department Support
Support the Maintenance & Process Manager in the daily operation of the Maintenance Department.
Aid in maintaining consistent maintenance coverage to support production operations.
Maintain technician performance, attendance, work completion, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Ensure maintenance technicians have the tools, information, and support needed to complete assigned work.
Escalate equipment concerns, staffing concerns, safety issues, or repeated maintenance problems to the Maintenance Manager.
Timekeeping & Attendance Oversight
Review and maintain accurate timekeeping records for maintenance employees.
Monitor employee clock-ins, clock-outs, attendance, missed punches, overtime, and schedule adherence.
Address timekeeping discrepancies in a timely and consistent manner.
Ensure maintenance employees follow company timekeeping procedures.
Communicate attendance or timekeeping concerns to Human Resources and the Maintenance Manager when appropriate.
Training & Development
Assist with onboarding and training of maintenance technicians.
Support ongoing technical training and skill development within the department.
Identify training needs and communicate skill gaps to the Maintenance & Process Manager.
Encourage technicians to follow proper troubleshooting, repair, documentation, and safety practices.
Corrective Maintenance Support
Support the timely completion of corrective maintenance activities.
Prioritize urgent repairs based on production needs, safety concerns, and equipment impact.
Follow up on assigned maintenance work to ensure completion and proper communication.
Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair needs when appropriate.
Track recurring issues and communicate concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce safe work practices within the Maintenance Department.
Ensure technicians follow lockout/tagout, PPE, GMP, and other company safety requirements.
Report safety concerns, near misses, equipment hazards, and policy violations as required.
Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and documentation expectations.
Participate in safety discussions, audits, and improvement efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Prior leadership, lead technician, or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting knowledge.
Ability to lead, coach, and hold employees accountable in a fair and consistent manner.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, equipment documentation, and work instructions.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle employee timekeeping information appropriately.
Must be available for on-call support when business needs arise.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and work around manufacturing equipment.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry items as required by the position.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety requirements.
Employment Classification
This is a full-time, salary exempt position. The normal schedule is typically Monday through Friday; however, the role requires flexibility and availability for on-call support when maintenance or operational needs arise.
