Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the Maintenance department's craftspeople and ensure that the department adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and hold employees accountable to ensure they are properly trained and equipped to perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
• Schedule overtime, coordinate callouts, approve vacations, etc.
• Monitor and minimize maintenance overtime
• Manage workload and priorities to minimize impact on production
• Set and manage expectations for all maintenance employees to ensure the job was completed correctly, the job site was clean, removable insulation was reinstalled, and all tools & equipment returned to their storage areas
• Respond to injuries and near misses appropriately as described by company policy
• Monitor and manage Maintenance Department Safety Performance in areas such as recordables, near-misses, participation in required safety meetings and training, and observation of all safety policies and procedures
• Monitor and manage the Maintenance Department's performance in Scheduled & Preventative Maintenance vs. Reactive Maintenance, rework maintenance, and other KPIs as determined by Management
• Maintain familiarity with the safe handling, environmental regulations, and emergency response for all materials in your area
• Stay proficient in using the company maintenance management system (CMMS) and assist in planning and coordinating its utilization
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for existing equipment based on manufacturer recommendations or best engineering practices
• Coordinate priorities with the Production Shift Supervisors for preventative maintenance, inspections, calibrations, repairs, revisions, and new construction
• Develop and monitor a comprehensive inspection program to maintain mechanical integrity and compliance with all engineering/regulatory codes and internal policies
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and recommend how to minimize equipment failures and maintenance repairs
• Lead the maintenance department effort in maintaining an inventory of critical spare parts and manage inventory and supply orders of items such as tools, hoses, and fittings

Requirements

• High school diploma/ GED required
• 10+ years of experience with maintenance experience
• 5+ years of experience in supervision/management
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership skills and ability to influence locally and across a broad organization
• Strong technical skills in maintenance and reliability engineering
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices, ASTM, API, NACE, and ASME
