Maintenance Supervisor

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for the day‑to‑day performance of the assigned unit to ensure that productivity and quality standards are achieved in a safe and cost‑effective manner.

Organization Structure

This position reports to the Unit or Assistant Manager and has direct line supervision over the hourly operators in the assigned segment of the manufacturing process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of 6 to 12 mechanics and other hourly maintenance workers.
• Ensure area team members are prepared to work safely, have the appropriate tools and equipment, that all positions are adequately covered, and that assigned duties are performed in a professional and timely manner.
• Communicate plant goals and objectives effectively to team members.
• Coordinate appropriate preparation, turnaround, maintenance, and return to service of area equipment.
• Work with operations to ensure safe work permits and equipment lockouts are issued in a timely manner.
• Accurately complete all SAP transactions related to work requests and material reservations.
• Seek to develop self and others.
• Evaluate performance of team members and provide feedback through periodic and annual evaluations, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
• Actively and effectively communicate and coach team members to promote excellence in the workplace.
• Verify that hourly time records reflect the work performed.

Education and Training Requirements

• High school diploma/GED (required).
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance and industrial construction.
• At least 3 years of direct supervision responsibility.
• Strong computer skills.
• SAP experience (a plus).

Post‑Offer Requirements

• Successfully complete Atalco Gramercy’s required drug screening and physical examination.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance.
• MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
• Ability to write reports and basic business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 100 feet, and to carry and utilize all required personal protective equipment. Work Environment

The work environment includes continuous plant operations and outdoor work in various weather conditions. The role is fast‑paced and high‑pressure, requiring flexibility and resilience. Travel and on‑site presence with affected business units may be required.
