Maintenance Supervisor
About the role
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and direct maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring timely and effective completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, shift reports, and equipment history.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to build a high-performing maintenance crew.
- Participate in root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance setting. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Experience using maintenance databases such as CMMS or similar planning and scheduling tools. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, science, or manufacturing from an accredited institution. Experience working/supervising in a Union environment. Experience and knowledge of Oracle EAM work order system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
