About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor at Adams Group is a hands-on, working position within the maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager, this role involves assisting with daily oversight of the maintenance crew, enforcing the culture of completing repairs correctly the first time, ensuring priorities are communicated, and identifying team members needing additional skills training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid the Maintenance Manager with daily oversight of the maintenance crew work efforts.
  • Perform regular reviews of the AVO CMMS to assist in determining priorities with the scheduler/planner.
  • Enforce the culture of “completing repairs correctly, the first time.”
  • Ensure priorities are communicated to the maintenance crew.
  • Regularly inspect machinery with respect to safety issues.
  • Ensure work assigned to the maintenance crew is completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify team members that need additional skills training.
  • Assist with the coaching and developing members of the maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel wear and utilize all safety equipment/PPE correctly as needed.
  • Communicate with management, at any hour, during emergency situations.
  • Participate in all audits as needed, ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all times.
  • Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy.
  • Follow and verify lock out/tag out rules and policies are strictly adhered to.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate inventories of tools, supplies and parts to acutely repair all equipment.
  • Review daily Maintenance Agenda during the morning maintenance meeting.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the shop and storage areas.
  • Other duties as directed or required.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: 5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing. Strong experience with CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and reliability programs (TPM, RCM, or similar).
  • Skills and Competencies: Proven ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements through KPIs, strong leadership, communication, and team development skills, intermediate to advanced computer skills, strong knowledge of VFD’s and PLCs controls, highly motivated and self-directed, attention to detail, communication, time management, problem-solving ability to work under pressure, demonstrated knowledge of preventive maintenance.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PLCs controls I/O VFD parameters, food safety and regulatory standards (HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC/FSSC), strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, etc.), understanding of budgeting and performance management, up to 15% travel to external sites and equipment/service suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in industrial environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions within a manufacturing setting
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
